Claire and Will's Wedding May 30, 2010

Where to begin with this wonderful family? I have been planning Claire and Will’s wedding for over 14 months and it has been such a joy the entire way. There is something about a backyard wedding under a big white tent that is so amazing. Even my senior assistant who has done many weddings keeps going on how this backyard wedding was by far her favorite.

The couple got married in a catholic church in Sandbridge, then a trolley escorted the guests to a beach house in Sandbridge. As the guests entered the cocktail hour in the Southside of the grounds they where greeted with the couples’ favorite white wine garnished with a Pungo strawberry. Guests enjoyed cornhole, backyard games and walks on the dock by the bay.

Soon guests crossed over a bridge to the tent for the reception. Claire and Will started the reception by wowing their guests with an amazing first dance. Soon Dad had everyone laughing with tears in their eyes as he gave a wonderful greeting. The night continued on with dancing, laughter, rain (I don’t think anyone even noticed) and nothing but great times.

Ann, the bride’s mother is one of the most organized women I have met. Not only did she plan the wedding, but her son had graduated the weekend prior and she catered a 65 person event. On Thursday before the wedding, she had a pig pickin’ for the neighbors who helped make the wedding possible, followed by rehearsal on Friday, and the wedding on Saturday, wrapping things up with a brunch on Sunday. Plus so much more going on in her everyday life. I will miss the short story emails from Ann, she has been such a pleasure to get to know.

Gina and Eddie May 22, 2010

Romance – Romance – Romance…this is how I can explain Gina and Eddie! From the very beginning they were hand in hand doing everything together. “Yes Dear”, “What do you think?”, “Whatever you like is fine with me.” It was fun to watch this couple together.

Gina and Eddie got married at a very cute church in Chesapeake—Oak Chesapeake Church. Following was the reception filled with candles at the Norfolk Yacht Club. The guests enjoyed the patio over looking the bay while dancing went on inside.

Each guest was served an individual Tiffany box cake, which was a nice surprise to everyone. Soon after, the couple got into the limo to go to their honeymoon in Hawaii. Eddie had planned the entire trip as a surprise to Gina, but little did he know she had a few surprises of her own for him.

As always, it was a great pleasure working with Sam Hughes Photography.

Sarah and Jordan May 22, 2010

Another great weekend and the Founders Inn and Spa! Sarah and her mother knew what they wanted, and what great planners they are! Sarah’s mom made beautiful centerpiece arrangements, a stunning candy station, the cuties apple place cards and so many more details.

Sarah and Jordan got married in the mid-morning, which was so beautiful! Sometimes it is nice to have a change in the day and have a morning wedding. Most couples want to go to the cocktail hour after the ceremony for food, drinks, and mingling, but this couple wanted to share this time with each other. They strolled off hand in hand talking and laughing with each other…it was very romantic!

Fritz Band Pro was great and I am looking forward to sharing images from Fairfield Photography!

Christina and Travis May 16, 2010

Christina and Travis, from the every beginning, planned their wedding together side by side. It is always so wonderful to see a couple decide each detail together while one may want one thing and the other may not see it that way. No matter what, they would both quickly agree on a solution and move onto the next task.

They got married in the garden at the Founders Inn and Spa with a lovely cocktail hour on the patio then moved into the ballroom for fun dancing all night!

Travis walked up to me at the end of the night and said he and Christina made a point to talk to each and every person at the reception. You could tell the guests enjoyed that they did this.

Christina and Travis were a joy to work with, and I know they will have many wonderful years together!

Looking forward to sharing pictures from Holly Callan Photography!
